The long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! continues to stand out as the only entertainment program of TV5 that remains competitive in the television ratings race.
According to data from the National Urban Television Audience Measurement covering February 16 to 19, the veteran noontime program recorded an average rating of 2.98%. Notably, it is currently the only TV5 entertainment program capable of reaching the 3.0% ratings mark, highlighting its continued strength and loyal audience despite stiff competition from other networks.
Meanwhile, several news programs of TV5 reportedly experienced a decline in viewership during the same monitoring period. Among the programs that saw lower ratings were Frontline Pilipinas, Una Sa Lahat, Frontline Pilipinas Weekend, and Frontline Tonight.
In contrast, Frontline Express has managed to maintain relatively stable and consistent ratings, providing some support to the network’s news lineup.
Industry observers also point to a significant factor behind the network’s recent performance: the end of TV5’s content partnership with ABS-CBN. The agreement, which had allowed TV5 to air several Kapamilya programs, was originally expected to run until 2028. Following the split, ABS-CBN transferred many of its popular shows to ALLTV, which has reportedly affected TV5’s overall audience share.
Looking ahead, the Kapatid network is banking on its upcoming primetime offerings to help improve ratings performance. Two new drama series — A Secret in Prague and My Bespren Emman — are expected to premiere soon, and industry watchers are eager to see whether these teleseryes can help boost TV5’s primetime viewership and strengthen its position in the competitive Philippine television landscape.
