‘Nagsunog ang Mukha Ko’: Sachzna Laparan Shares Painful Experience With a Brand

Influencer and content creator Sachzna Laparan opened up about a traumatic brand collaboration during her guest appearance on Rana Harake’s Spill or Drink YouTube video, alongside fellow influencer Jelai Andres.

The revelation came during a segment where guests were asked to name a brand they would never want to work with again. While Sachzna mentioned the brand name only in a bleeped manner, she shared the circumstances that led to her decision.

According to Sachzna, she takes brand endorsements seriously and makes it a personal rule to use and test products first before agreeing to promote them. However, in this case, she claimed the brand rushed her into signing a contract even before she could properly assess the product.

Things took a troubling turn when she finally used it. Sachzna recounted experiencing a severe skin reaction, saying her face felt like it was burning and eventually developed wounds. She described the experience as painful and alarming.

Despite what happened, Sachzna alleged that the brand still required her to continue fulfilling parts of the agreement, even making her shoulder certain expenses. She said she went on to promote the product for about a month before ultimately deciding to end the partnership.

When she informed the brand of her decision, Sachzna claimed she was asked to pay for a photoshoot that had supposedly already been scheduled. However, she said there were no concrete preparations in place—no makeup artist, no finalized schedule, and no actual setup.

Adding to her disappointment, Sachzna shared that the brand did not take responsibility for her condition and allegedly advised her to simply seek medical consultation.

The experience left her feeling physically affected, financially burdened, and emotionally frustrated, prompting her to speak up and share her story as a cautionary tale for fellow influencers.
