Full Results: August 20, 2023, Civil Service Exam CSE-PPT List of Passers, Top 10 Professional and Sub Professional Levels

The complete list of passers and the top 10 performers for both the professional and subprofessional levels of the August 2023 Civil Service Exam, also known as the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT), is anticipated to be published online no later than November 3, 2023, or within a period of seventy-five (75) calendar days following the examination.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has reported that a total of 345,293 individuals out of the 373,638 registered candidates, representing a pass rate of 92.41%, participated in the CSE-PPT held on August 20, 2023, across 95 testing centers nationwide. This figure includes 304,247 participants for the CSE-Professional Level and 41,046 for the Subprofessional Level.

In terms of regional participation, the National Capital Region recorded the highest number of examinees, with 48,200 candidates, followed by Region IV and Region III with 39,355 and 24,227 aspirants, respectively.

The CSC has also stated that those who achieved a minimum rating of 80 percent will be eligible for positions in the civil service, provided they meet the necessary qualifications and other prerequisites, including educational background, work experience, and training.

The Civil Service Examination-Professional and Subprofessional Levels (CSE-PPT) is a comprehensive assessment designed to gauge an individual's preparedness for a career in government service. This examination covers a range of subjects and is conducted in both English and Filipino.

For the Professional Level (Prof), candidates face a 3-hour and 10-minute test consisting of 170 items. The content areas assessed include Numerical Ability (covering number sequences, basic operations, and word problems), Analytical Ability (which includes word analogies and logical reasoning), and Verbal Ability (incorporating vocabulary, grammar, correct language usage, and the ability to reason through written content).

Similarly, the SubProfessional Level (SubProf) examination spans 165 items, with a time limit of 2 hours and 40 minutes. SubProf candidates are evaluated on Numerical Ability (encompassing number sequences, basic operations, and word problems), Clerical Ability (evaluating skills such as filing and spelling), and Verbal Ability (including vocabulary, grammar, correct language usage, and logical reasoning in text comprehension).

In addition to these subject-specific assessments, both levels of the examination include a section dedicated to general knowledge. This section tests candidates' familiarity with crucial topics such as the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713), Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts, as well as Environment Management and Protection.

RELEASE OF RESULTS

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has set its sights on releasing the results of the CSE-PPT on November 3, 2023, which falls on a Friday. This timeline aligns with Examination Announcement No. 02, s. 2023. However, given the substantial number of examinees in this examination cycle, the possibility of result delays should be taken into account. To keep candidates informed, we recommend monitoring result announcements between October 19 and November 8, 2023, which corresponds to a window of 60 to 80 calendar days post-examination.

OCSERGS/VERIFICATION OF RATING

Examinees, whether they have passed or not, can access their individual test results using the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS), which is available through the CSC website. Please note that the specific date of OCSERGS availability will be posted soon, but it can generally be expected around 15 days following the release of the List of Passers.

CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY FOR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES

Successful candidates in the Civil Service Examination will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE), which will be printed on official CSC letterhead. To obtain this certificate, passers are advised to follow a specific process.

Before proceeding to the CSC Regional/Field Office to claim their CoE, candidates should first coordinate and verify if their Certification is ready for release. They can do this by checking CSC announcements for updates. Contact information for the CSC office can be found on the CSC website.
