CEBU CITY, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte visited victims of the recent landslide that occurred at the landfill in Brgy. Binaliw, Cebu City, offering support and condolences to those affected by the tragedy.


The landslide left several workers injured, many of whom are currently admitted at the Visayas Medical Center. According to reports, the victims were among those working at the landfill when the incident struck.

In a social media post, VP Sara shared her sympathies as she met with survivors and their families.

“Lahat sila ay nangtatrabaho sa naturang landfill at magkakaiba ang kuwento nila kung paano sila nakaligtas sa naturang sakuna. Nakikiramay ako sa pamilya at kasamahan ng mga nasawi. Nawa'y manatili kayong matatag sa gitna ng sakunang ito,” she said.

Her visit aimed to extend moral support and assurance that the national government is monitoring the situation closely while assisting in recovery efforts.

More details on rescue, relief operations, and ongoing assistance are expected as local authorities continue to respond to the landslide.
