KAPAMILYA CHANNEL SCORES STRONG FIRST DAY ON ALLTV2

MANILA, Philippines — The launch of “Kapamilya Channel sa ALLTV2” marked a strong start on its first full broadcast day last January 2 (Friday).

The channel officially began airing at 5:30 AM with Kapamilya Daily Mass and signed off the next day at 2:00 AM following Movie Central Presents, completing an extensive lineup of Kapamilya shows now available again on free-to-air television.

During its opening day, viewers were able to watch ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida block on ALLTV2, featuring:

  • FPJ’s Batang Quiapo

  • ROJA

  • What Lies Beneath

  • Go Ahead

The broadcast came just one day after the expiration of ABS-CBN’s content partnership with TV5 Network Inc.

Also aired on the new platform were other flagship Kapamilya programs such as:

  • It’s Showtime

  • TV Patrol

  • Magandang Buhay

  • Kapamilya Blockbusters

  • The World Tonight

In addition, ALLTV2 featured reruns of several well-loved ABS-CBN titles, including:

  • 100 Days To Heaven

  • Lavender Fields

  • Senior High

  • Kapamilya Deal or No Deal

In a social media post, former Senate President Manny Villar, Chairman of Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS), celebrated the network milestone.

“Nasa ALLTV2 na ang Kapamilya Channel! Enjoy your favorite Kapamilya shows all day, mula umaga hanggang gabi. Re-scan your TVs and tune in now,” Villar wrote.

The arrangement became possible following a licensing agreement signed between AMBS and ABS-CBN Corporation, allowing the formerly cable-exclusive Kapamilya Channel to return to free TV on Channel 2—the same frequency ABS-CBN once occupied before losing its broadcast franchise in 2020 under the Duterte administration.

Despite this move, the Kapamilya Channel and its HD feed will continue to air on cable television and via livestream through ABS-CBN’s iWant platform. Meanwhile, most ABS-CBN programs remain available on A2Z, and the Kapamilya noontime show “It’s Showtime” continues to be broadcast on GMA-7.

The return of Kapamilya content to free-to-air television via ALLTV2 marks another significant shift in the country’s broadcast landscape entering 2026.
