MANILA, Philippines – Twelve years after failing the Bar, Spinel Albert Allauigan Declaro of UST has achieved what many would call a miracle: ranking 2nd in the 2025 Bar Exams with an exceptional 92.46% score.
Once discouraged, Declaro took a long pause from the exams, balancing life and responsibilities, before finding the courage to try again. His determination and patience paid off, turning past failure into nationwide inspiration.
Supreme Court Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier, who once taught Declaro, personally encouraged him to retake the Bar, ensuring a fair exam. Hailing from Iguig, Cagayan, Declaro’s success symbolizes hope for aspiring lawyers across the country.
Out of 11,425 examinees, only 5,594 passed, making his Top 2 finish even more remarkable. The 2025 Bar posted a 48.98% passing rate, higher than the previous year’s 37.84%.
