Kris Aquino is not battling cancer, contrary to false claims circulating online. Her close friend, Dindo M. Balares, clarified through an Instagram post that Kris has never been diagnosed with cancer. According to him, what doctors have been treating are her autoimmune illnesses, not any form of cancer.
“Mali po ang kumakalat na balita. Wala po siyang cancer eversince. Hindi po cancer ang ginagamot sa kanya kundi autoimmune diseases,” Dindo wrote.
Many fans expressed relief and gratitude in the comment section, thanking Dindo for giving a credible update amid the spread of misinformation.
Alongside this clarification, Dindo shared that Kris has shown significant improvement since moving to a private seaside resort for her recovery. From her lowest weight of 82 pounds, she has now gained around 30 pounds, reaching 112 to 132 pounds. She admitted, however, that her arms and lower legs remain thin.
Dindo shared that the photos being shared online are genuine and not edited, taken by a mutual friend, Ms. Jing, during a recent visit. He described Kris as slowly regaining strength, although she still struggles with basic movements and sometimes needs assistance getting up or walking to the bathroom. There were times she fell due to weakness, thinking she could stand on her own.
Kris reportedly told Dindo, “I really hate being dependent,” expressing frustration over her limited mobility. Despite this, she pushes through, motivated by the love and support from those around her.
The change in her skin’s texture, according to Dindo, is a hopeful sign. “May regeneration of skin, Krisy,” he told her, adding that this could indicate regeneration inside her body as well.
While she still experiences low energy and moments of weakness, Kris’s gradual weight gain and her decision to stay in a peaceful, healthy environment are helping her recovery. Though she’s far from fully healed, her friends and fans are hopeful and encouraged by the progress.
Dindo’s heartfelt update served not only to correct misinformation but also to inspire continued prayers and support for Kris. As he said, “When we pray, miracles happen — proof si Krisy. Love nourishes and heals.”
